This fun brief, from the talented design team at Design Democracy, was to revamp a website with looping animated Gifs of recent projects.
The creative challenge was to create simple yet engaging custom animations for each illustration and design - not too busy and distracting and not too long or complex to keep within the limited file size of each animated Gif. Working with Design Democracy’s creative director, we workshopped how the shapes, forms, characters and other elements unique to each artwork could be animated in a dynamic way.
I enjoyed working on the project and revisiting some of the animation fundamentals of pushing shapes and forms to their extremes and creating dynamic contrasts using speed ramping. I also had the opportunity to try out my first ‘double bounce’ walk cycle!
